He is Risen

Today was a fabulous day! It is Easter Sunday, of course, I cried during worship in church, it was an awesome service. As I sang about my Savior being alive, I thought of my mom being in heaven on this day.

I thought of how different this Easter is from last year's Easter. Mom was in Life Care, we were waiting for an upcoming appointment to see the foot Dr about the skin graft. It looked the best it had looked ever, and it still looked terrible. We were hoping the wound vac would come off after 6 months of being attached to a machine.

I thought about our plans for lunch. Last year there were no family plans for lunch, only a hospital visit after church and the children were not allowed in the room. This year we went to Mecca's for lunch. Dad prayed and we all sat around after the meal drinking coffee, and laughing. (We missed Charles, Sheryl and the kids. Charles has had a kidney stone all week and was in the hospital. However, he felt so much better than he had previously.) The kids were upstairs playing and fighting. It was great!

Because our Savior is alive, so is my mom. She is not here with me but is actually alive with Him.

I am reminded of the grace of the Lord and the grace He gives us to mourn what we have lost and the grace He gives us to celebrate what we have gained.

blessings,

Laura
